Jerusalem
Drive to Jerusalem via Latrun and Shaar Hagai. In Jerusalem the tour begins with a panoramic view of the City & Gethsemane. Enter the Old City via the Dung Gate, to the “Cardo” in the restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Western Wall, and walk the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross) till the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Proceed to Mt. Zion and visit King David Tomb, and the Room Last Supper. After lunch (not included) visit at Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Museum and Mt Hertzl the national cemetery.
Massada and the Dead Sea
Drive through Jerusalem to the Dead Sea Valley via Ma’aleh Edumim, the Inn of the Good Samaritan and the City of Jericho overlook in the Judean Desert. Ascend Massada by cable car to explore the fortress of King Herod and last stronghold of the Zealots. A short drive from Masada to enjoy the Ein Gedi SPA and a dip in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth: 1,200 ft below sea level.
Christianity in Nazareth and the Galilee
Drive to Nazareth for a visit to the Church of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. Continue to the Sea of Galilee via Canna and visit the ruins at Capernaum. Then stop at Tabgha and visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish. Via Tiberias to the Baptismal Site on the Jordan River outlet “Yardenit” Back to the point of departure.
The Coast of Israel
Drive via the coastal highway to Caesarea to visit the Roman and Crusader ruins. Continue on through Haifa to enjoy a panoramic view of Haifa Bay and the Bahai Gardens. Continue via Nahariya to Rosh Hanikra to see the Lebanese Border and visit the Grottos (descent to the Grottos by cable car). Return along the Coast of the Mediterranean to Acre to visit the Crusader underground city and the Crypt. Walk through the old city to see the Oriental Market, the Arab Mosque and the Old Port. Return to the point of departure.
Safed
Drive to Safed, the Mystical City where the Kabbalah reached the peak of its influencein the 1500’s, see the synagogues, the verandah where The “Ari” wrote prayers still used today to welcome the Sabbath, visit the graves of the holy people of yesterday. See the mountain view, visit the artist quarter and feel the atmosphere of a ancient and modern holy city. Learn about the battles of 1948, the Crusaders, the Mamlukes and more.
